The Bridges of Madison County

Francesca is a dedicated, Iowan housewife, living a simple, yet dispassionate, life. Everything changes when her family goes on a trip to the State Fair, leaving Francesca behind. Francesca is taken aback by a handsome National Geographic photographer named Robert, who asks for directions to the covered bridges of Madison County. The two connect; starting an emotional four-day love affair that has repercussions long after it’s over.

The Secret Garden at Lakewood Cultural Center

Performance Now presents “The Secret Garden” - A compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal in this Tony Award-winning musical. Orphaned, 11 year-old Mary returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle and his invalid son. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers", spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life. Songs include “I Heard Someone Crying,” and “Lily’s Eyes.

Vintage Theatre presents Agnes of God

Summoned to a convent, Dr. Martha Livingstone is charged with assessing the sanity of a novice nun accused of murdering her new-born. Who killed the infant and who fathered the tiny victim? Livingstone's questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love leading to a dramatic, compelling climax

Youth Theater Auditions at South Suburban Parks and Recreation

A kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal titles. Everything is tried to bring harmony to their family. Through a series of haphazard events, the royal family just might live happily ever after, after all. Auditions: Ages 6-16, Tues, June 26, 4-6:30pm at Buck Center Theatre. You must call 303-730-4612 for a 10-minute audition appointment. Must be available for all rehearsals and the performance on Aug 10 at 7pm. Rehearsals: July 5 - Aug 9, Tues and Thurs 6:30-8:30pm and Sats 9-11am. Have a 60 second monologue memorized. Successful audition participants then register for the class.
