On Sunday November 12, at 3 pm, Confluence acapella choir will present Canticum Comicum as part of the Confluence Tenth Anniversary Concert Series. This concert will feature all the silly and funny songs we have performed together over the last decade.
The hilarity begins by taking a poke at the war between men & women, and the women naturally decide to go shopping, funk-style. Then comes a group of delightful and silly Irish songs that give a wink to the human condition, followed by a send up of Manly Men choirs. Some charming madrigals come next, including an hysterical musical response by PDQ Bach. After a classic spoof on the Book of Common Prayer by none other than Bond, James Bond, the concert closes with some lovely Shakespearian poetry in unexpected settings.
Join Confluence and let us tickle your musical funny bone! The concert will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 9200 W. 10th Ave., Lakewood. Presale tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and students; children under 10 are free (tickets at the door are $2 more). For more information or to order tickets, visit confluencechoir.org or call 303-279-2932.
