My name is Sheena and I am a native Coloradan looking to give back to our community. As a woman, wife, and mother of two I understand the desire to feel safe in any place or situation. I also recognize the paramount value of being around positive female leadership for male and female youth alike. My husband Mike is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has been teaching me this physical chess for over 10 years. We are a family of Martial Artists, including our 11-year old daughter and 8-year old son.
What I love most about this specific martial art is that it requires no punching or kicking and it covers what to do from the ground. It is called ‘the gentle art’ because a smaller, weaker person could defend themselves against a larger, aggressive attack through proper timing, leverage, and technique.
I am offering a free self-defense workshop for females in our area. Ages 14 and up are invited to this safe, fun, and empowering gathering. This is specifically designed for first time students who have no experience. We’ll cover topics like how to avoid a hazardous situation and break free from grabs.
This is an exciting opportunity to engage in creating and cultivating the best version of ourselves and I believe that Martial Arts is an incredible platform to act from. Contact me today to RSVP or with any questions. Then, do me a favor and send this letter to anyone you know who might be interested. Please join me in uniting our local people in peace and harmony with the gift of security!
