Part old-west town, part live music venue and part street fair, there’s something at Bailey Days for everyone.
As Dylan Droogsma, 14, and his dad, Eric, competed to throw rope rings onto a longhorn skull in the carnival area of the event, Crissa Taylor, 2, ate cotton candy in front of the enormous stage.
The Platte Canyon Chamber of Commerce hosted the two-day event on June 25 and 26, which featured more than 100 vendors selling everything from pastries to art. A variety of musicians and even cowboy action shows, complete with leather chaps and smoking pistols, shared the stage.
The event continued despite the weekend’s cold and rainy weather, which did little to lessen the mile-long line of cars parked along the street outside the event, with license plates ranging from California to North Dakota.
This is the first time in several years the event has been held over an entire weekend instead of one day, and the crowds suggested that this weekend-long celebration is not going away anytime soon.
