Englewood High School basketball fans are in for a treat Jan. 8
as a whole evening of Englewood-Alameda hoop games are planned.
Both boys and girls C-teams, teams made up primarily of
freshmen, will play at 3 p.m., using both the basketball courts in
the field house.
After the c-team games, there will a short break while the
bleachers are put in place and then the boys junior varsity game
tip-off is scheduled at 5.
The girls varsity teams take the court for a 6:30 tipoff with
the boys varsity game scheduled to follow at about 8 p.m.
Similarities abound anytime Englewood and Alameda compete
against each other. The mascot for both teams is the pirate and the
school colors for both teams are the same — blue and white.
While there will be a lot of basketball played, ticket prices
remain unchanged at $5 for adults and $3 for students with school
identification. One ticket is good for admission to all the
games.
