Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network plans free monthly
parenting classes for foster and adoptive parents.
The interactive classes are designed to help parents with some
of the challenges of raising foster children and children who have
been adopted. Resources will be shared and parents will learn from
experts and other parents alike. Topics presented through July
include Abuse-Neglect, Attachment and Bonding, Defiant Behaviors,
Crisis Intervention, Parenting and Social Issues. Foster parents
can receive two credit hours per class toward foster care license
maintenance.
Classes meet from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays in Littleton, 61 W.
Davies Ave. Dinner and childcare are available for a nominal fee.
