The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office has confirmed that a 13-year-old boy was one of the victims in a July 14 shooting in Englewood.
The teenager, whose name was not released by the coroner because he was a minor, was fatally shot the afternoon of July 14 in the 3600 block of the South Acoma Street/South Bannock Street alley. His death has been classified as a homicide by the coroner.
An 18-year-old man was also shot and taken to a hospital. His condition has not been released.
According to a news release from the Englewood Police Department, the incident is believed to have been an attempted robbery. An initial investigation revealed that two or more suspects in a white car attempted to rob the victims in the alley, according to police. There is a possibility that the car may have had a broken window on its rear passenger side. No suspects have been located.
Sgt. Chad Read told the Englewood Herald that police are working on several leads. Call police at 303-761-7410 if you have any information on the suspects or the vehicle.
