On May 31, Englewood announced the final candidates for the vacant city manager position. Residents are invited to meet the candidates on Monday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at Englewood Civic Center. Englewood City Council is expected to appoint a new city manager on June 24.
Toni Arnoldy, community relations coordinator for Englewood, said it is “hard to say” when the city will hire the city manager. The city manager enforces policy decisions made by City Council and oversees general operations in Englewood.
Here is what you need to know about the three final candidates.
C. Scott Andrews
Education: Doctor of Education — Organizational Leadership from Argosy University in Georgia. Master of Public Administration from Strayer University in Florida. Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of South Florida and the University of Phoenix.
Work history: Current job — Assistant city administrator for Smyrna, Georgia, population 57,000, since 2017. Former jobs — Economic development director for Sugar Hill, Georgia. Recreation supervisor, facility manager and recreation leader for Temple Terrace, Florida.
James (Shawn) Lewis
Education: Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University in California. Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication from Lubbock Christian University in Texas.
