Arapahoe County is seeking volunteers for the 2009 Arapahoe
County Fair, which will take place July 22-26 at the fairgrounds in
Aurora.
The county says it is looking to fill more than 600 positions,
which include “fair ambassadors” and greeters, contest judges,
stage assistants, “mascots,” exhibition hall hosts, children’s game
leaders and more.
County Commissioner Jim Dyer of Centennial says volunteering at
the fair is a great opportunity to get involved in the local
community,
“As a volunteer, you will greatly contribute to the success of
the event by helping the county to energize the public, steer the
activities and keep the costs of offering a fair as low as
possible,” he said.
Volunteers will each receive a T-shirt and free admission to the
fair on the days they work. The free admission does not include
carnival rides.
Shifts generally last four hours, with breaks provided. Start
times vary. Volunteer orientation is July 18 at 10 a.m. at the
fairgrounds, located at 25690 E. Quincy Ave. in Aurora.
