Man previously deported arrested

Posted

An accident investigation resulted in the arrest of an illegal immigrant who had previously been deported for trafficking in heroin and cocaine.

The accident happened about 4:45 p.m. at South Broadway and Englewood Parkway. Englewood Police Officer Joel Jose was part of the accident investigation. As part of the interview with the driver at fault in the two-car crash, the officer was told the 42-year-old man was in the country illegally and had previously been deported for drug trafficking. When

Jose talked with an Immigration Customs Enforcement agent, the agent said the Asian man was in the country illegally and asked that he be arrested and held for deportation investigation.

The suspect was arrested on the warrant and taken to Arapahoe County Jail. He could face a hearing and eventual deportation.
