New council members sworn in

Voters spoke Nov. 3, selecting three people, Jim Woodward, Rick Gillit and Linda Olson, to represent them on the Englewood City Council for the next four years.

Municipal Judge Vince Atencio swore them in at the Nov. 16 meeting.

Woodward, an incumbent, was an at-large choice, which means all registered votes in the city could vote for him or his opponent, Matthew Crabtree. The certified vote count showed Woodward received 2,453 votes and Crabtree received 1,942 votes.

District 2 was destined to have a new representative because incumbent John Moore couldn’t seek re-election because of the term-limit restrictions. Linda Olson and Doug Cohn were the candidates and the certified vote count showed 572 votes for Olson and 379 for Cohn.

The District 4 race was between incumbent Wayne Oakley and contender Rick Gillit. Gillit won, receiving 776 votes while 649 votes were cast for Oakley.
