AURORA — The Colorado High School Activities Association announced the schedule for next week's state wrestling tournaments.

They will be at the Southwest Motor Events Center in Pueblo.

The girls' tournament starts at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11. The semifinals start at 3:45 p.m., and the finals, third- and fifth-place matches start at 6:30 p.m.

The boys' tournament is split over two days, Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13. Friday's session is for 106- through 145-pounders, and Saturday's includes the 152-pounders through the 285-pounders.

The schedule is the same for each .. quarterfinal round at 9 a.m., semifinals at 2:30 p.m. and the finals, third- and fifth-place matches start at 7:15 p.m.

"We're excited to provide a state culminating event for student-athletes in Season B," said CHSAA assistant commissioner Adam Bright in a statement. "While we're at a different venue, the tradition of the CHSAA state wrestling tournament continues.

Originally, CHSAA wanted to run a dual-only format.

"But with the tradition of wrestling being an individual and team competition, we fought hard to secure a variance that allows for a more traditional format with an expanded capacity," Bright said.

CHSAA also said its variance to conduct the tournament will not allow fans to be in attendance. The events will be live-streamed.
