Englewood wrestler Justin Williams took top honors in the
heavyweight division and three teammates placed in the Dec. 5 touch
competition at Arapahoe High School’s Warrior Invitational.
Williams, who placed second last year at state in the 215-pound
division, moved up one weight class to compete in the heavyweight
division for wrestlers who weigh more than 215 pounds but not more
than 275 pounds.
He pinned his opponent in the finals to take top honors in the
Warrior Invitational’s heavyweight division.
Teammate Nick Sheppard finished third at 160 pounds while Tyler
Dowler, 140) and Aaron Emberson (152) each finished fourth in their
respective weight divisions.
The wrestling team is on the road at Evergreen Dec. 11 and will
compete in the Columbine Invitational on Dec. 13. The team wrestles
at home against Jefferson on Dec. 18, which is the final match
before the break for the holidays.
